    Romantic Spots in Dublin

Romance means different things to different people. For some, romance is fancy meals and hotel stays while for others, it’s a simple bunch of flowers. Can you guess which team we’re on? We love romance in our South Dublin Hotel and love making any celebration extra special for couples. Dublin is full of great spots to spend an afternoon or evening hand in hand before returning to Aspect Hotel Park West for a fantastic meal and drinks. You might even spoil yourself with room service dessert! Here are some of our favourite romantic spots in and around Dublin.

    Love Lane

Not to be confused with actual ‘Love Lane’ on the other side of the city, Crampton Court has been renamed Love Lane and is now one of the brightest and best lanes in Dublin. An Instagrammer’s paradise, this small lane connects the Olympia Theatre on Dame Street with Essex Street in Temple Bar. There are many features including large artworks and tiny nuances you’d miss if you weren’t paying attention. There is a section of wall with tiles printed with personal messages and romantic move quotes. Don’t be surprised to be joined by star-crossed lovers sitting and admiring the lane while you’re there.

    Dun Laoghaire Pier

What could be more romantic than a walk by the sea, hand in hand with the one you love? Dun Laoghaire is one of the most impressive parts of the city’s coastline, especially the pier. If you’re there early, grab a delicious fresh fish and chips for lunch followed by a stroll along the pier with a Scrumdiddlys ice cream. If you’re there in the evening enjoy a candlelit supper in a restaurant looking out to sea or gazing into the eyes of the one you love. The pier is illuminated in the evening hours and is a great place to walk and get to know each other better. The train journey to Dun Laoghaire is an interesting one, giving you a behind-the-scenes vantage point of back gardens and some beautiful coastal views.

    Iveagh Gardens

Spend some time in Dublin’s secret garden, Iveagh Gardens. Located in the centre of the city, close to Stephens Green and Camden Street area, Iveagh Gardens is the location for many al fresco lunches, after-work strolls, and heart-to-heart conversations. The park has a history dating back over 300 years but has been relatively off the beaten track, aside from office workers between 12-2pm weekdays! While there you can enjoy the rose garden in full bloom, water features and fountains, statues, hidden courtyards and walkways, a hedge maze and a huge waterfall. It’s the perfect place to walk and talk with an ice cream or a sandwich from a local independent café.

    Phoenix Park

A little closer to home, our Park West hotel is lucky to have Phoenix Park so close and our guests love to explore the vast grounds. With everything from playgrounds to the president’s house, it would take a couple of days to explore the park in its entirety. The Zoo, while not specifically romantic is a great place to take a date and ramble around discovering new things about its inhabitants. Farmleigh House & Gardens are a great spot to hang out on the grass or catch an exhibition or show in the house itself. You could also walk through the wide green fields admiring the wild deer that call the park home. A day spent in Phoenix Park is a day filled with memories.

    Liffey Valley Cinema

If you like to keep things classic, Liffey Valley, a short drive from our four-star hotel in Dublin’s Park West, has it all. Take them shopping for something special in Fields or H. Samuel to mark the occasion before treating them to a delicious meal. There are dining choices for all budgets from Mcdonald’s to Hudson Rooms so you’ll find something to suit your taste. Finish the evening with a trip to the multiscreen, high-tech Vue cinema. They show all of the latest blockbuster movies in 2D, 3D, IMAX and IMAX 3D – just don’t pick something too emotional!

Arrange a romantic hotel stay in Aspect Hotel Park West and enjoy a stay you’ll remember long after you leave. You can book a table for our restaurant for two, book our best available rates or read about more exciting things to do in Dublin all on our website.
